Every year World Mental Health Day is celebrated on 10th of October for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. I personally didn’t knew about this, just read today morning in newspaper. For a while i just kept thinking about it. Here are some of my thoughts…
If we just take a little time and think about this, its such an important day. In today’s date people have more mental problems as compared to physical or any other problems. There’s so much that people stress about; their work stress, relationship problems, home chores… There’s just so much that people constantly think about.
Today if we talk about a normal working person, their brain works continuously throughout the day, from waking up in the morning to going to bed at night. We have come to a time where we “live for work” rather than “work for living”.
It’s just one life and we should know how to balance stress and peace of our mind. Working throughout the week is okay but do relax on the weekends. Do on a long drive or just grab a book. Enjoy your hobbies or just go for a walk with you headphones on. They really help you. At least for a while you are away from that busy schedule.
There are people who are ending their lives due to thousands of problems. All these problems are culminated in a single word “depression”. I guess it just isn’t their mistake that they end their lives. There are many factors which affect it and it depends and varies in situations.
Here’s a suicide prevention helpline. The best thing you can do in such situations is to talk with your friends and trusted people. Share your feelings. They really do help in reducing pain.
